millefeuille in the bronx

I have been in the bronx in 2002 & 2007, no difference with brooklyn, lots of different communities can live in the same area. The belmont aera is italian but you can meet latinos, dominican… and i heard a black guy speaking french… so welcome in the bronx. I tasted an italian 'millefeuilles', how can i describe this cake? At first look in the window it really looks like a millefeuille except that its shape was square. When it arrived on my table killed by a spoon and a knife, i realized that the inside was not a millefeuille but one feuille. A sort of sponge cake not fat and a little cream. Too sweet for me but refreshing and i was so hungry. I was looking for savory in the italian market but no panini or sandwiches. I drank a iced tea which was sweet. I found a italian 'épicerie fine' and i tasted their sandwich so fresh and so yummy but i can't finish it because of the 'millefeuille'.

nice place in Chelsea except the noise of the AC in the garden, but we were the only ones in the garden. Good food, French quantities easy to digest! As a French, i choose a belgian meal: French fries and mussels!
