'for lovers only' by michael polish

i rented this movie yesterday: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4qV30POaqeQ&feature=player_embedded
If you like bobo movie, this movie is for you. I read on a French movie website that it is inspired by 'A man and a woman' by claude lelouch, shabadabada, that's true because the woman looks like anouk aimée. It is a sort of commercial video for perfume, fashion… I saw reference to 'dolce vita', 'breathless'…
the black & white is beautiful, the choice of music is good except the song of arcade fire which is edited weirdly. i just say that because i am a fan of arcade fire and the song 'no car go'.
The couple says anything and repeat the same things: 'i love you, i miss you, blah blah blah…'
A empty movie inspired by the French nouvelle vague (the sound editing).
I hoped something happened but no!
the 'must' of the parisian bobo is the hotel Amour in the downtown Montmartre… should i laugh or should i cry?

'connected' by tiffany shlain

how disappointed i was watching this movie!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jB4zIYE3k1s
i liked the trailer but the movie is totally different.
i can understand that she needs to make a movie talking about the cancer of her father and her pregnancy: a therapeutic movie for the filmmaker. I didn't know her father's books…
the movie is too private, too intimate…
And finally, i revised my history classes when i was in highschool.
I wanted to see something more hard-hitting, original…
Why do the things change between people since we are more connected?…
I remember when my friends started to buy cell phones, i was the last one to buy one.
Calling his boyfriend to ask him for buying a baguette before coming home was intolerable for me!
the emptiness to say anything… your cell phone is your best friend, your wife/husband…
and WWW arrived in your life.
with emails, people re-started to write and i liked that as i like to receive postcards or long letters…
i like to see the writing…
i often forget my cell phone at home and my day is not worse than another one…
so this movie is too egocentric…
looking forward to the next movie i want to watch to comfort me…
