I started a "job" in a cafe in brooklyn. We said to me that american have a coffee culture, that's really true!
First day, i spent 4 hours and one tea sold. Second day, no tea sold and today, one tea and i found it not drunk. I don't know if the customer forgot it or if he didn't like it. The tea brand isn't a bad one (Harney & sons), they used tea bags with loose leaves. If i recognize the customer, i will ask him why he left the tea.
I am asking myself for opening a tea room in NY. In this area there are lots of bobos, tourists, workers on offices… The owner has a second store in another area of brooklyn that i know as well and i will go next week to "work". He wants to change things and why not to introduce loose leaves.
It could be a great idea and maybe he will use tea in his pastries… He doesn't propose iced tea but he sells iced tea in bottles. I haven't taste yet, i am disgusted by all theses smells of pastries, hot milk, coffee…
Let's see what happen with tea!
