'le havre' by aki kaurismäki

The new movie by this finnish filmmaker i just watched. I loved all his movies i watched especially: the blue color of the wall, the red door, the dog, the looks of his characters, andré wilms, kati outinen (first time i heard her voice and speaking french), the cinematographer (timo salminen)… And the incredible actor from the French nouvelle vague, Jean-Pierre Léaud…

This movie is political, talking about the immigration politics of France. For the first time, the characters talk a lot. There are lots of references to his other movies 'the bohemian life' and a little to french culture. The singer, Little Bob, is famous in France not to be famous. He is a tacky rock'n'roll singer. His band called little bob story. He never changed his style. The dog is a main character too.
At the IFC center now. Enjoy!
